This is the official blog of Carriots.com. This blog is not about Politics but it has been created to promote a Revolution: the general adoption of Internet of Things technology. This first post states the principles of RIOT blog. Why this Blog about M2M and IOT? Because this revolution will not be televised, it will be Bloggified to open your mind to the possibilities of IOT. This Blog is about:

Our Mission:

  • Inform you about amazing things happening in the Internet Of Things (IOT) or Machine to Machine (M2M) technologies. Obviously the term amazing applies to our criteria (or lack of) but responds to what caught our attention. We don’t know everything that is happening in the M2M world, but we read a lot on what going out and we have been working on M2M projects for over 5 years.
  • Open your mind to the possibilities of M2M and IOT technology by presenting you cool projects, some useful, some fun, some stupid but all them created by passionate people. We might even present you some of the projects of our lab where we mix work, fun, electronics, software and Lego bricks!
  • Make you sweat to create your own IOT project for fun or for work. Obviously if you create your project using Carriots.com it would be a lot easier to build the application for your device.

Posts Scope: Our posts will talk about:

  • News on M2M, IOT, Arduinos, Raspberry Pi, etc…
  • Companies working in this sector and what they do.
  • Cool projects done by the community in their free time.
  • Lots of Tutorials on how to use all these technologies at your home.
  • Some of the crazy projects we have done at our lab and that you can replicate. What is our definition of crazy project? Well… for now a Lighthouse built on Lego bricks that you can control from your web browser.
  • Open thinking explaining our vision on the future of IOT, M2M and their applications to different sectors like Smart-Cities or the Industry.
  • Tips and Tricks on the technologies we have used in Carriots or in our projects.

Authors: The authors of this blog are members of the Carriots team. Some of us are more focused on the business side and some are more geek and technical. One goal, one vision, different skills, different authors.

Self-promotion: From time to time we might post about projects we have created to show you the possibilities of Carriots as an Application Platform. We want also to publish interesting news about Carriots to keep you updated with our company and our products. Our self-promotion is intended to make build your own project on Carriots whether it is for fun or with commercial objectives.

We hope you enjoy reading our blog and posting comments and feedback. We would be happy if you subscribe to our RSS feed.
