Autodesk Fusion 360 is the first 3D CAD, CAM, and CAE tool of its kind. It connects your entire product development process in a single cloud-based platform. Altair SimSolid is the perfect complement to Fusion 360’s embedded Nastran Simulation. It extends a user’s analysis range to large assemblies and provides feedback in seconds to minutes. “We are excited about the partnership with Altair SimSolid” said Patrick Rainsberry, business development manager at Autodesk. “The ability to do rapid performance analysis on large assemblies will be a great benefit for our customers”.
How does the add-in work
Using the add-in is simple. Once installation is complete, a Altair SimSolid button will be added to the Fusion 360 Model work space. Simply pick the button and all visible solid body or mesh body geometry, along with the associated material properties, will be transferred to Altair SimSolid. Multiple design studies are fully supported. All analysis definitions update automatically making design iterations fast and painless.
Here is a video that demonstrates how the integration works.
More examples can be found in the Autodesk Fusion gallery
Several examples of models that have been analyzed using the new integration can be in the Fusion 360 community gallery. To find out more details, go to gallery and search for Altair SimSolid.
