Featured Event: CAR MBS August 4-7, 2014

On Monday, August 4th, the winner of the 2014 Altair Enlighten Award will be announced at the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) Management Briefing Seminars (MBS) in Traverse City, Michigan. CAR is a non-profit organization focusing on important trends and research that impact the future direction of the global automotive industry and its societal context. The Management Briefing Seminars have been held for nearly 50 years, providing thought leadership and an opportunity for industry leaders to gather and share innovative best practices and groundbreaking technologies in a relaxed setting.

The 2014 Altair Enlighten Award will be presented to the company which achieved the most outstanding and innovative weight reduction results on a component fitted to a production vehicle manufactured between August 2011 and August 2013. This award program provides a platform to showcase success stories and create dialogue about the environmental impact, technical depth, and diversity of weight saving initiatives which exist in the automotive industry. To be considered, the case study must reliably illustrate significant weight savings over a comparable baseline version of the component/system/material.

In collaboration with CAR, the Altair Enlighten Award aims to recognize and honor innovations and achievements from original equipment manufacturers as well as parts/systems/materials suppliers. The ceremony will take place during the session entitled Featherweight Competition: Agile, Light, and Strong, from 1-4:30pm. Judges must choose from a broad array of impressive nominations.
