ATCx Energy Seminar Concludes in Aberdeen, UK

Altair successfully hosted an ATCx Energy event September 2nd entitled “Reducing Risk and Increasing Reliability.” The seminar explored the latest challenges faced by the energy industry and showcased the latest virtual simulation tools and approaches. Computer-aided engineering (CAE) and optimization continue to enable innovation through simulation-driven design.

Eight external presentations from sponsors and partners were delivered. Atkins, BP, Chevron, National Oilwell Varco (NOV), Technip, and the University of Edinburgh were among those who profiled successful applications of Altair’s technology in their designs. A number of solutions were developed in close partnership with Altair ProductDesign, the consulting arm of parent company Altair. Industry partners nCode and Fujitsu also presented their offerings, and exhibited alongside Applied Computing & Engineering, Software Cradle Co., Ltd. and NAFEMS.

The seminar included six Altair presentations from Rick Watkins, Steve Cosgrove, Gareth Lee, Martin Kemp, Ian Littlewood and Ajith Narayanan, who chaired the event. Over 120 delegates from over 80 companies registered for the conference. This was Altair’s first venture into Aberdeen, and a great opportunity to expose the company to the region, by all accounts with resounding success. Congratulations to the team!

For those who could not travel to Aberdeen, a follow-up webinar has been scheduled for tomorrow, September 24 at 9am EDT, 2pm GMT. Details and a registration link may be found here.
