Aerospace Engineering Shortage

Various articles have appeared recently on the current global shortage of aerospace engineers.  One such article in Industry Week outlines how this is particularly difficult for the aerospace suppliers who don’t have OEM name recognition to attract talent.

With all of the new airplane programs throughout the world, this indeed does pose a challenge. Altair is poised to help address this challenge by continuing to assist the aerospace engineering community in finding new efficiencies in designing and analyzing aerospace systems.

Our optimization technology, coupled with our fast CAE model set-up, is having a tremendous impact on many OEMs and suppliers.  One engineering manager at an OEM told me that he estimates he is 50 percent more efficient in terms of time AND resources using HyperWorks.  If we could make all aerospace engineers 50 percent more efficient, perhaps there wouldn’t be a shortage.

You can check out many of our aerospace customer experiences with HyperWorks at our HyperWorks Technology Conference website.
