2014 Student Formula SAE® Japan

Altair was proud to sponsor the 2014 Student Formula Japan event in Shizuoka, Japan in September..Launched in 2003 as an extension of the original Formula SAE series, Student Formula Japan created a platform for students to develop mono-zukuri (object creation) skills through planning, designing and constructing a competitive automobile with the support of partners from government, industry, and academia.

This collegiate design competition provided a great opportunity for students to cultivate their product development skills, apply engineering knowledge, and gain insights applicable to the automotive industry. It was also a unique way to network and exchange ideas with industry experts and professionals.

Altair Japan provided training sessions and webinars to most participating universities, introducing solidThinking Inspire® to several teams. The team was thrilled to learn that Kobe University had used solidThinking Inspire to optimize the team vehicle’s brake pedals! The case study, written in Japanese, may be viewed here.

Excellent job to all the university teams who participated at the 2014 Student Formula Japan! See you next year!
